Police charge man with GBH after assaultin Brisbane City

Brisbane City detectives have charged a man with grievous bodily harm following investigations into an alleged early morning assault in Brisbane City which saw a man hospitalised with serious head injuries.

It will be alleged that an altercation occurred between three men outside a licensed venue in Eagle Lane around 1.20am which saw a 23-year-old Northgate man allegedly assaulted resulting in him striking his head on the concrete curb.

It is understood the man lost consciousness for a period of time before being transported to hospital with serious head injuries.

Police arrested a 29-year-old Laidley Heights man at the scene and charged him with grievous bodily harm. He was granted police bail and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 19.
