Police charge man with high-range drink driving at Yass

A man has been charged with high-range drink driving in The Hume region.

About 7.20pm Friday (24 December 2021), officers attached to The Hume Police District were conducting random breath tests (RBT) as part of the Christmas road-safety operation in the Yass CBD, when they pulled over the driver of a white Renault Kangoo.

The driver – a 58-year-old man – was subject to an RBT, which returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station where he allegedly returned a secondary breath analysis reading of 0.202. He was charged with drive with high-range PCA and his licence was suspended.

The Yass man was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear in Yass Local Court on Friday 14 January 2022.
