Police charge man with high-range PCA with young child in car - Bondi

A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after being stopped with a young child in the car at Bondi last night.

About 9pm (Sunday 16 August 2020), officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command stopped a black Porsche 922 on Beach Road, near Campbell Parade, Bondi, to speak with the driver in relation to his manner of driving.

When police approached, they noticed an eight-year-old boy in the front passenger seat.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.163.

The Vaucluse man was charged with high-range PCA and issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 1 September 2020.

His licence was suspended.

A child at risk notification has been made.
