Police charge man with Indecent Recording of child

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad have charged a 24-year-old man as a result of their investigation into his alleged indecent recording of a child at a sports centre in Craigie about 6.05pm yesterday, Thursday 25 May 2023.

It will be alleged the man entered a cubicle in the change room area and using his phone, indecently recorded a child in an adjacent cubicle. The child saw the man recording him and alerted his father who contacted centre staff. Police apprehended the man a short time later.

A 24-year-old man from Hocking has been charged with:

• One count of Indecently Recorded a Child under 13 years; and

• One count of Indecent Deals with a Child under 13 years.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 26 May 2023.
