Police charge man with Junee assault

A man has been charged following an assault in the state's south west.

About 10pm Saturday (21 March 2020) a 25-year-old man was at a hotel on Junction Street, Junee, when he left the premises briefly to make a phone call.

Police have been told the man was punched in the head several times by a man who was not known to him, suffering significant bruising and grazing.

Officers from Riverina Police District commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 25 March 2020), a 23-year-old man attended Junee Police Station and was arrested in relation to the assault.

The man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was granted strict conditional bail.

He is due to appear at Junee Local Court on Friday 8 May 2020.
