Police Charge Man With Multiple Offences - Central West

A man will face court tomorrow following multiple break, enter and stealing offences in the state's west.

On the Tuesday 12 May 2026, officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District began an investigation after a Holden Rodeo was allegedly stolen from a business on Tabratong Street, Nyngan.

On Friday 15 May 2026, police will allege the same vehicle was used during a break and enter at a property on the Castlereagh Highway, Curban, where several boxes of ammunition were allegedly stolen.

On Saturday 16 May 2026, the Holden Rodeo was located in Collie Road, Terramungamine. Following a search of the vehicle, several bags of ammunition were seized.

On Saturday 3 October 2026, a man was captured on CCTV footage entering the front yard of a property in Cunningham Street, Dubbo, where a number of power tools were allegedly stolen.

Following inquiries, about 4:30pm today, (Wednesday 7 October 2026), police received information a 28-year-old man was on an unregistered motorbike within the West Dubbo area.

As a result, police attended and arrested the man after he entered a river.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with 13 offences:

  • Enter building with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Larceny
  • Enter enclosed lands (trespass)
  • Face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Commit s114 offence, having previous conviction
  • Drive unlicenced
  • Use unregistered motor vehicle
  • Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner
  • Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
  • Break, enter and steal
  • Enter enclosed agricultural lands
  • Destroy Damage property
  • Acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 tomorrow, Thursday (8 October 2026).
