Police charge man with murder after incident in Hobart

Police have charged a man with murder following an incident in Hobart yesterday which resulted in the death of a man.

Around 3.30pm yesterday police responded to reports of a disturbance at a private residence on Liverpool Street.

Police attended and located a 51-year-old man from Glenorchy with blunt force injuries to his head. He was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious condition, and sadly died earlier today.

A 52-year-old man from Hobart has been charged with murder. He has been detained in custody to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court later today.

Police will allege the two men were known to each other.
