Police charge man with real estate fraud totalling more than $310,000 at Illawarra

Police have charged a man over alleged fraud offences in the state's south.

It will be alleged the man was involved in the sale of six properties through an Illawarra real estate agency between August 2021 and February 2022, from which he unlawfully obtained a financial benefit totalling $310,989.50. This money should have been paid to vendors.

Following inquiries, the 31-year-old was arrested at Nowra Police Station today (Friday 3 June 2022), where he was charged with six counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.

He was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court today (Friday 3 June 2022).
