Police charge man with stalking and arson, domestic violence offences at Logan

Detectives have charged a man with stalking, arson and assault (domestic violence offences) following investigations into a car fire at a Logan Central car park yesterday (May 19).

It will be alleged at around 9.30am petrol was poured onto the bonnet of a vehicle parked at a local business.

The fire damaged the front of the car before it was extinguished by emergency services. No one was injured.

Police located and arrested the man around 2.20pm in Brisbane City.

A 56-year-old Logan Central man has been denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today charged with domestic violence offences including three counts of wilful damage, and one count each of stalking, assault occasioning bodily harm, arson, contravention of a police protection notice and trespass.

It will be alleged the man had previously been in a domestic relationship with the female owner of the vehicle.
