Police charge men after Wodonga incident

Wodonga Divisional Tasking Unit and Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged four men following an alleged incident in Wodonga earlier today (31 May).

Investigators executed a warrant at property in Macpherson Street about 10.20am, allegedly locating three firearms, an energy conducted device, ski and camping gear believed to have been stolen, and various quantities of drugs.

The Bomb Response Unit was also called to the address after a suspicious item was located.

The item has since been rendered safe and the scene cleared.

Four men, all from Wodonga, were arrested at the scene.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences, including make explosive device, firearms offences, traffick ecstasy and possess prohibited weapon, and was remanded to appear at Wodonga Magistrates' Court on Monday 3 June.

A 32-year-old man was charged with a number of offences, including make explosive device, firearms offences, traffick ecstasy and possess prohibited weapon and remanded to appear at Wodonga Magistrates' Court on Monday 3 June.

A 34-year-old man was charged with prohibited person possess cartridge ammunition and bailed to appear at Wodonga Magistrates' Court on 10 September.

A 34-year-old man was charged in relation to separate matters and remanded to appear at Wodonga Magistrates' Court on 3 June.

Police would like to reassure the community the area has been deemed safe and there is no threat.
