Police charge pair after northern beaches police operation

Two males have been charged following a police operation in Sydney's Northern Beaches yesterday.

About 12pm (Monday 6 May 2019), officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to Dalley Street, Freshwater, after reports of two males acting suspiciously in the residential area.

On arrival, police became involved in a pursuit with a Toyota Rav 4, believed to be stolen, which was terminated.

The vehicle was eventually located on Addiscombe Road, and both males fled on foot in different directions. The males were located and arrested with assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit, and taken to Manly Police Station.

The 25-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter, steal motor vehicle, police pursuit, drive conveyance without consent of owner, resist arrest, assault police (x2), attempt escape police custody, destroy property and other traffic matters.

He was refused bail and will appear in Manly Local Court today (Tuesday 7 May 2019).

The 17-year-old male was charged with be carried in conveyance without consent and two warrants.

He was also refused bail and will appear in a children's court today (Tuesday 7 May 2019).
