Police charge pair after two separate assaults on public transport network - Kingsgrove and Bondi Junction

Two teens have been charged following two separate incidents on the public transport network at Kingsgrove and Bondi Junction this week.

A group of teens approached a man travelling on a train between Revesby and Kingsgrove about 11.30pm on Sunday (20 October 2019).

A male from the group, is alleged to have produced a knife and one of the females has attempted to steal the man's phone. The 27-year-old passenger was then punched in the face, before the group fled at Kingsgrove Railway Station.

The incident was reported to staff at Kingsgrove Railway Station and officers from St George Police Area Command attended.

The second incident occurred about 1.35am on Monday 21 October 2019, when it is reported a group of six teens got off a train at Bondi Junction and made their way to the concourse.

It is alleged a male from the group approached a man and woman, aged 27, produced a knife and threatened the couple before leaving the area.

Following an investigation by officers from the Police Transport & Public Safety Command, two teenagers were arrested at a home in Grevillia Street, Macquarie at 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 October 2019). They were both taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

The 15-year-old male was charged with armed with intent (x2) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 17-year-old female was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (in company).

They were both refused bail and are expected to appear in a children's court today (Thursday 24 October 2019).
