A teenage girl has been arrested following the assault of a security guard and a police officer in the Adelaide CBD.
Police were called to Rundle Mall about 8.10pm on Tuesday 22 September after reports that a security guard had been punched by a teenage girl. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Patrols attended and located the suspect on King William Street a short time later. It will be alleged that while officers were speaking with the girl, she refused to provide her name and then slapped a police officer to the face.
The girl allegedly resisted arrest before being taken into custody. During the arrest, two police officers sustained minor injuries.
A subsequent search of the girl uncovered scissors in her possession.
The 16-year-old Campbelltown girl was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assaulting a prescribed emergency worker (police officer), causing harm by resisting arrest and carrying an offensive weapon.
She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 12 November.
