Police Charge Teen After DV Incident - Hunter Valley

A teenage boy will face court today charged following an alleged domestic violence incident at a home in the Hunter Valley yesterday afternoon.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 27 May 2025), police were called to a home in Cessnock after reports of a teenage boy allegedly damaging walls and household items before discharging a gel blaster firearm towards a woman known to him.

The woman was not physically injured as a result of the incident.

Police seized the gel blaster firearm and placed the 17-year-old boy under arrest.

He was taken to Cessnock Police Station, where he was charged with breach of bail, destroy or damage property, possess unauthorised firearm, and fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property (DV).

He was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Wednesday 28 May 2025).
