Detectives have charged a teenage boy and recovered two allegedly stolen vehicles in Melbourne's east.
Officers spotted an allegedly outstanding stolen grey BMW travelling on Williamson Road in Doncaster about 4pm on 26 June.
Police followed the vehicle along Doncaster Road, before it continued to Tram Road.
It is alleged the teen occupants dumped the BMW in Balwyn North before taking off in a stolen Kia.
The Kia was followed through Balwyn North, before driving through Canterbury, Kew, and Hawthorn.
The Kia allegedly came to a stop inside an underground carpark on Victoria Street, Richmond, about 4.50pm.
With assistance from the Dog Squad a 17-year-old boy, alleged to be one of the occupants, was arrested at the scene.
During the arrest he was bitten by one of the dogs.
He was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 15-year-old boy, also alleged to be one of the occupants of the Kia, was arrested nearby.
The 15-year-old from the Yarra Ranges area was interviewed by detectives and released pending summons.
The 17-year-old from the Mornington Peninsula area remains in hospital and was remanded under police guard.
His charges include:
- (x6) aggravated burglary
- (x5) theft of motor vehicle
- (x5) unlicensed driving
- burglary
- theft
- attempted theft of motor vehicle
- criminal damage.
The matter will be heard before a court today.
