Police charge teens after St Albans aggravated burglary

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two teenage boys following an alleged aggravated burglary in St Albans last night.

Police received reports that two youths allegedly armed with knives forced their way into a West Esplanade home about 11.40pm.

They attempted to take the keys to a car parked at the home however left with a mobile phone which police have since located.

Police were notified of the incident and the Air Wing was quickly dispatched to the area and was able to direct police on the ground towards two youths running from the scene.

Detectives and uniform police arrested two 15-year-old boys after a short foot chase.

The teens, from St Albans and Cairnlea, were both charged with home invasion and theft and will front a bail justice today.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
