Police charge three after brawl - Cranebrook

Three people have been charged following a brawl in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 6.15pm (Monday 26 September 2022), police were called to a supermarket on Borrowdale Way, Cranebrook, after reports of a brawl.

Police have been told that two people – a 42-year-old man and 17-year-old girl – were shopping in the supermarket when they were approached by two females and three males who allegedly assaulted them before fleeing the scene.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The teenage girl was assessed at the scene by paramedics.

Following inquiries, a 46-year-old woman, 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at a home on Martley Way, Cranebrook, and taken to Penrith Police Station.

Crime scenes were established at the home and supermarket, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, the teenage boy was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray. He was refused bail, to appear at a children's court today (Tuesday 27 September 2022).

The teenage girl was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray and granted conditional bail, to appear at a children's court on Thursday 27 October 2022.

The woman was charged with affray and granted conditional bail, to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 14 October 2022.
