Police charge three after Haymarket brawl

Three men have been charged following a brawl in Sydney's CBD yesterday.

Just after 4am on Tuesday 13 February 2024, emergency services were called to a hotel on the corner of Goulburn and Pitt Street, Haymarket, following reports of multiple people injured.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended and located a woman, aged 20, and two men, aged 23 and 26, with minor injuries.

All three were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, with the woman taken to St Vincent's Hospital with a facial wound.

The 23-year-old man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with a wound to his neck, and the 26-year-old man taken to St Vincent's Hospital with minor injuries.

A crime scene was established and detectives from Sydney City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 6.00pm yesterday (Tuesday 13 February 2024), two men aged 23 and 24 were arrested yesterday at Day Street Police Station. They were taken to Surry Hills Police Station where they were both charged with affray. Both men were granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 7 March 2024.

A third man, aged 26, was arrested at Surry Hills Police Station and charged with reckless wounding (DV) and reckless wounding. He was refused bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Wednesday 14 February 2024).
