Police charge three teens after serious assault at Doonside

Three teens have now been charged following the serious assault of a teenage boy in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 5.40pm (Wednesday 4 August 2021), emergency services were called to a home on Perigee Close, Doonside, following reports of an assault.

A 16-year-old boy was found unresponsive with injuries to his head and chest. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains on life support.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Brens.

As part of initial inquiries, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on Rosenthal Street about 11.50pm yesterday.

Following further inquiries, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were arrested on Mikado Way about 8am today (Thursday 5 August 2021).

They were all taken to Blacktown Police Station where they were charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, detain in company with intent to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm are assisting with inquiries.

They were refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Children's Court tomorrow (Friday 6 August 2021).

Investigations are continuing.
