Police charge three teens over armed robbery - Yagoona

Three teenagers will face children's court today after allegedly attempting to hold up a Yagoona supermarket yesterday.

About 6.45pm (Thursday 21 November 2019), two teens entered a supermarket on Rookwood Road, while a third teen stood watch at the entrance.

Police will allege the two teens, dressed in hooded jumpers and balaclavas, walked behind the counter and allegedly threatened the 43-year-old male staff member with knives.

They then produced a bag and allegedly demanded cash and cigarettes.

The staff member managed to grab one of the knives, before the three teens fled on foot, and police were notified.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended, and after a search of the area, the three male teens, aged 16, were located and arrested.

All property from the shop was recovered and the staff member was physically unharmed.

The teens were charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon. The third teen was also charged with breach of bail.

All were refused bail and are due to appear before children's court today (Friday 22 November 2019).
