Police charge trio after Blackburn armed robbery

Detectives have arrested and charged three men today following an alleged armed robbery in Blackburn last month.

The alleged armed robbery took place at a Whitehorse Road service station about 9pm on Wednesday 9 October.

Police have been told the 19-year-old victim had arranged to meet a man at the location to sell a Rolex watch.

The Mount Waverley man was assaulted and had his watch stolen during the alleged incident.

He received head injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital.

Investigators from the Box Hill Divisional Crime Team and Monash Crime Investigation Unit executed three warrants at properties in Preston, Coolaroo and Thomastown about 6.30am this morning.

A 20-year-old Preston man, a 19-year-old Thomastown man and a 22-year-old Coolaroo man were arrested and have each been charged with armed robbery.

All three men will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
