Police Charge Two After Affray In Broadmeadows

Detectives from Fawkner Divisional Response Unit have charged two people following an affray in Broadmeadows last month.

Police were called to an altercation between two groups in a carpark on Pascoe Vale Road about 7.20pm on 10 October.

Police will allege the altercation continued in a nearby shopping centre.

The groups fled the scene in a silver Honda and a white Mazda prior to police arrival.

Police have since arrested and charged two males.

An 18-year-old man from Mill Park was arrested on 28 October.

He has been charged with:

  • affray (x2)
  • possess prohibited weapon
  • commit indictable offence whilst on bail (x2)
  • publish material about commission of a relevant offence (x2)

He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 20 November.

Police also executed a search warrant and arrested a 17-year-old boy from the Banyule area.

He was charged with:

  • affray
  • possess a prohibited weapon
  • possess imitation firearm
  • theft of motor vehicle
  • publish material about commission of a relevant offence
  • incitement
  • fail to comply with direction and possess cannabis.

He was bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.

An 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Epping, were also arrested in relation to the incident and released pending summons.
