Two people have been charged after an alleged armed robbery in the state's west yesterday.
About 6.30pm (Monday 6 September 2021), police responded to a report of an armed robbery on Cole Street, West Tamworth.
Officers from Oxley Police District attended and were told a 26-year-old man was driving a Ford Falcon on Cole Street, when an unknown man waved him down.
When the driver stopped, he was allegedly threatened with a pair of scissors before being taken to a nearby home on Cole Road, where he was threatened further and had his mobile phone stolen.
The man managed to flee the home a short time later and alerted police.
Following inquiries, police attended the home on Cole Street, West Tamworth, where they arrested a 28-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy.
Both were charged with robbery in company and not comply with noticed direction re s 7/8/9 - COVID-19.
The man was refused bail to appear in West Tamworth Local Court today (Tuesday 7 September 2021).
The teen was given conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Tuesday 5 October 2021.
