Police charge two after drugs, cash seized in vehicle stop - Hay

Two men have been charged after police seized drugs and cash during a vehicle stop in the state's Murrumbidgee region yesterday.

About 1pm (Sunday 27 November 2022), officers attached to Hay Highway Patrol were patrolling the Hay area when they stopped a motor home on the Sturt Highway for the purpose of a random breath test.

During a search of the motor home, police allegedly located and seized almost 19.5kg of cannabis and $16,000 cash.

The driver – a man aged 21 – and his passenger – a man aged 27 – were arrested and taken to Hay Police Station.

Both men were charged with one count of supply cannabis, and one count of recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

They were refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (Monday 28 November 2022).
