Police Charge Two After Firearms Arrest

Police have charged two men after an allegedly stolen vehicle was followed to a residence in Notting Hill.

Officers observed a stolen Subaru Impreza in the carpark of a fast-food restaurant at the corner of Wellington Road and Dandenong Road in Clayton about 12.15am on Friday, 18 July.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle but it was immediately driven away at a fast rate of speed.

The Air Wing followed the car from overhead to an address in Elwood Street, Notting Hill.

Responding police entered the property and arrested two men.

The address was searched and a number of items were located including a 3D printer and a shotgun.

A 30-year-old Dandenong man has since been charged with prohibited person possess firearm, theft of motor vehicle, possess cartridge ammunition, possess article for burglary, theft or cheat and disqualified driving.

A 39-year-old Notting Hill man has been charged with prohibited person possess firearm, possess explosive substance, make improvised explosive device and possess drug of dependence.

Both have been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 19 July.
