Police charge two after search warrant in Coonamble

Two people have been charged following an investigation into property-related offences in the state's central west.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation following reports of break, enter and steal offences in the Coonamble and surrounding areas during May 2022.

Following inquiries, about 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday 1 June 2022), officers executed a search warrant at a home in Coonamble and arrested a 16-year-old boy inside the home.

During a search of the home, an 18-year-old woman threw an object at an officer before she kicked and spat at another whilst being placed under arrest.

Officers located and seized jewellery, binoculars, cannabis, ammunition and car keys.

The teen and woman were taken to Coonamble Police Station.

The teen was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal and aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there. Five outstanding arrest warrants were also executed for domestic violence, assault and property-related offences.

He was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Thursday 2 June 2022).

The woman was charged with two counts of assault officer in execution of duty. She was given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 19 July 2002.

Two officers – a Senior Constable and Constable – did not require medical treatment.
