A man and woman will face court today charged over the alleged wounding of another man during a neighbourhood dispute in Sydney's west at the weekend.
About 1.30am yesterday (Sunday 20 November 2022), emergency services were called to a unit complex on Torton Place, Penrith, following reports of people fighting.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended and found a 50-year-old man with wounds to his upper body and hand.
Police were told the man had an argument with a man and woman before he was allegedly struck with a metal pole and a piece of timber with a sharp object, which punctured his chest. The fight escalated, and the man was allegedly stabbed in the side and hand with a kitchen knife.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
A crime was established and examined by specialist forensic officers, while an investigation was commenced by local detectives.
Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were arrested at a unit complex about 8.30pm.
They were taken to Penrith Police Station, where they were charged with reckless wounding-in company.
They have both been refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court later today (Monday 21 November 2022).
