Police Charge Two Teens After Epping Crash

Banyule-Nillumbik Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two teens after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed in Epping yesterday.

Police first spotted an allegedly stolen Haval driving at speed in the vicinity of Church Street in Whittlesea about 1am.

Air Wing monitored the vehicle as it allegedly sped through Epping before rolling near the entrance of the Hume Freeway on O'herns Road.

All six occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 17-year-old boy from the Whittlesea area and 16-year-old boy from the Hume area have both since been charged with theft of motor vehicle and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Both were bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy from the Whittlesea area has been released pending further enquiries.

A 19-year-old Seymour woman, 17-year-old boy from the Whittlesea area and 16-year-old boy from the Hume area remain in hospital and are yet to be interviewed.

It is alleged the Haval was stolen during an aggravated burglary from Starboard Drive in Doreen during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
