Police charge two with kidnapping

Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested two men following an alleged kidnapping in Templestowe on 7 June.

Police were initially called to a carpark in High Street following reports a man was assaulted before being forced into a vehicle about 7.50pm.

Detectives executed search warrants in South Morang, Eden Park and Campbellfield this afternoon and subsequently arrested a 38-year-old South Morang man and a 39-year-old Eden Park man.

The South Morang man has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, common law assault, robbery, attempted robbery and numerous other charges.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Thursday10 June.
