Police charge woman after Launceston crash

Police have charged a woman for driving while disqualified and under the influence of alcohol following a crash in Launceston last night.

Around 7.20pm police attended a crash at the intersection of Frankland Street and St John Street where a Gold BMW X5 had collided with the side of a blue Mazda hatch.

The 47-year-old Launceston woman driving the BMW was arrested at the scene for driving while disqualified. She was transported to the Launceston Police station where she submitted to a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.354.

She was charged with several offences and detained to appear before the Launceston Court this morning.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the crash.
