Police charge woman after pursuit through Northwest suburbs

Police have charged a woman after a pursuit in the early hours of this morning.

A vehicle was allegedly spotted speeding on Plenty Road in South Morang about 12.20am on Thursday, 24 November.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the vehicle through multiple suburbs and deployed stop sticks in Mernda.

A pursuit was initiated when the car took off at speed towards Point Cook.

Officers successfully deployed stops sticks in Werribee South and the vehicle came to a stop on Hacketts Road.

A 28-year-old Richmond woman was arrested at the scene.

She has been charged with a number of offences including reckless conduct endangering serious injury whilst on bail, driving a motor vehicle at a speed and manner dangerous to the public, failing to stop and driving whilst disqualified.

She is appearing at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
