Police charge woman after St Kilda aggravated burglary

A woman has been charged following an aggravated burglary in St Kilda last night.

The 34-year-old Footscray woman has been charged with aggravated burglary, burglary, theft and deal with property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

She was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 12 July.

The charges follow an incident at a Charnwood Crescent address where a 19-year-old woman woke to a noise about 11.50pm.

She went to investigate and was allegedly confronted by a woman.

A struggle ensued and the offender managed to flee before she was arrested in the driveway by responding police.

The 19-year-old woman was not physically injured during the incident.
