Police charge woman after young boy assaulted- Glebe

A woman will face court next month after a boy was allegedly assaulted while at a childcare centre in Sydney's Inner West three years ago.

In November 2020, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command launched an investigation following reports a child with a disability had been assaulted by a worker at a childcare centre in Glebe in 2017.

Police will allege the boy, aged 4 at the time, had his wrists bound on two separate occasions by a worker at the centre in 2017.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a home on Myra Rd, Dulwich Hill and arrested a 31-year-old woman, about 8.50am yesterday morning (Wednesday 25 November 2020).

She was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with two counts of assault school student while attending a school.

The woman was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 18 December 2020.
