Police charge woman over armed robberies with knife at Kelso

A woman is due to appear in Bathurst Local Court today charged over two alleged armed robberies in the Central West.

Officers from Chifley Police District have been investigating the robberies which targeted a convenience store on the Great Western Highway about 9.30pm yesterday (Monday 19 August 2019), and again 1.30am today (Tuesday 20 August 2019).

Police have been told a woman had allegedly threatened the store attendant with a knife, stealing cigarettes and other items.

The first time the woman left the scene in a car; however, when police returned at 1.30am she was found in the cool room and was arrested.

The 31-year-old woman has now been charged with two counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon.

She's been refused bail to appear in Bathurst Local Court today.
