Police charge woman over stabbing - North Parramatta

A woman has been charged following a stabbing at North Parramatta overnight.

About 6.30pm yesterday (Friday 19 March 2021), emergency services were called to Sutherland Road, North Parramatta, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended and found a 19-year-old man with stab wounds to the back.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police were told the man and a woman were involved in an argument in a car before he was stabbed.

Following inquiries, an 18-year-old woman was arrested at Parramatta Police Station where she was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and do act intending to pervert the course of justice.

She has been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 20 March 2021).
