A woman has been charged with mid-range drink driving after crashing into a fence with her child in the car in Heckenberg yesterday.

About 9:30pm (Tuesday 18 June 2019), police were called to Eucumbene Crescent, Heckenberg, near Liverpool, and stopped a white Holden Rodeo Utility that was moving slowly after crashing into the fence.

Police observed a two-year-old girl standing, unrestrained, on the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

Police subjected the 43-year-old female driver to a breath test, which returned a positive reading.

She was arrested and taken to Green Valley Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.121.

The woman was charged with driving with mid-range PCA, unrestrained child and drive with passenger under four years in front of vehicle.

She was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 10 July 2019.

Police notified the Department of Family and Community Services regarding the matter and the child was placed in the care of her grandmother.
