The Territory Labor Government has today announced the reappointment of Northern Territory Commissioner of Police and CEO of Fire and Emergency Services, Reece Kershaw APM.
Mr Kershaw has been reappointed until 2023.

Mr. Kershaw has served as the Commissioner of Police and CEO of Fire and Emergency Services since April 2015.
His reappointment will ensure continuity and stability in the NTPFES executive.
Mr Kershaws reappointment also coincides with the agencys new strategic direction, Strategy 2023.
Mr Kershaw has overseen the Governments plan to increase police numbers by 120.
We already have about 100 of those 120 extra police, so we are well on target to deliver our promise. The CLP made the same promise but they failed to deliver.
As Commissioner he has played a critical role in our efforts to tackle the Territorys number one challenge alcohol-related crime and antisocial behaviour, and is also working to bolster police numbers in our remote communities.
