Police continue their inquiries into attempted robbery and assault - Wolli Creek

Officers from St George Police Area Command are continuing inquires into an attempted robbery and assault of a man in Wolli Creek last month.

About 4.10pm on Wednesday 6 March 2019, a 68-year-old man left Wolli Creek Railway Station walking towards the shopping precinct on Discovery Point Place.

As he continued walking he was hit from behind and fell to the ground. A man started kicking and punching him while trying to steal his bag.

A bystander came to the injured man's aid and the offender fled the scene.

The injured man suffered cuts and bruising and was treated by a paramedic at Wolli Creek Train Station where he reported the incident.

Officers at St George Police Area Command commenced an investigation and have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 193cm tall, with a thin build and dark hair. At the time he was wearing light coloured pants and top.
