Police continue their investigation into Bendigo Jewellery shop burglary

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are continuing their investigation into a burglary which occurred at a local jewellery shop last Monday.

The incident happened on Mitchell Street when a burglar broke into the jewellers just after 2am.

Investigators believe the man, using a hammer, took several minutes to smash the security glass in the front door of the shop.

After entering the shop, the burglar broke open a locked cabinet and grabbed a number of watches, before putting them into a back pack he was wearing.

The burglar broken into a second cabinet taking various jewellery items including bracelets, bangles, rings and necklaces.

A short time later the burglar left the shop and walked off along Bath Lane.

He is described as tall, with a slim build and wearing a black hoodie, black pants and carrying a camouflage-coloured back pack.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries
