Police continue to investigate Brunswick sexual assault

Melbourne Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team have released a facial composite of a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in Brunswick earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a 33-year-old woman was waiting for a ride share car on Fitzroy Street, Brunswick about 1.30am on Monday 9 January.

An unknown man approached the woman and sexually assaulted her.

The ride share car arrived about 30 seconds later and the woman was able to get in and leave the scene.

The offender who was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper fled the scene.

The man was described as being possibly Asian in appearance, 183cm tall, with broad shoulders and with black hair, and was wearing a light coloured t-shirt.

Anyone who has information about the incident or the man’s identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
