Police are appealing for information as an investigation commences into an aggravated break, enter, and steal in the state's north overnight.
About 2.50am today (Thursday 7 August 2025), police attended a motel on Carnarvon Highway, Moree, following reports of an aggravated break-in.
Officers attached to New England Police District were told three people – two armed with sticks – forced entry into a room, waking the occupant.
The group assaulted the 56-year-old male occupant, before taking his car keys and leaving in his silver Holden Commodore.
The man did not require medical treatment, however; sustained minor injuries.
Just after 3am, police received reports the Commodore failed to pay for fuel at a service station on Blueberry Road, Moree.
