Police investigate after cannabis crop found - New England PD

Police have seized cannabis worth more than $3 million at a property in the state's Northern Tablelands.

Earlier this month, officers from New England Police District commenced an investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in Bingara, 182km north west of Armidale,

Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Upper Bingara Road, about 2pm on Monday (20 April 2020).

During the two-day operation, officers located a large cannabis crop, seizing 1032 cannabis plants, 132 cannabis seedlings, a firearm and ammunition. These items will be forensically examined.

The cannabis has an estimated potential street value of $3.1 million.
