Police are appealing for information following a fire at a factory in Alphington this morning., Victoria Police say
Emergency services were called to the site on the Chandler Highway just after 4.20am.
While the exact circumstances are unknown, it appears people may have attended the disused building to try and steal equipment.
No one was injured during the fire.
Detectives from Yarra Crime Investigation Unit are investigating and at this time the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen people in the area around the time of the fire or witnessed other suspicious activity.
