Police investigate armed robberies at Broadbeach

Police are investigating three separate incidents believed to be linked in Broadbeach last night.

At about 10.15pm a woman was approached at the intersection of Australia Avenue and Jubilee Avenue by a sedan with three unknown people. One man allegedly had a baseball bat and threatened the woman before she gave the man her handbag and mobile phone.

At about 10.20pm another woman was approached at a Waitomo Street address. A man allegedly armed with a baseball bat threatened the woman in a driveway. The woman was able to get into her vehicle and drive away safely.

A short time later at about 10.36pm police believe the same group of people have robbed a man and threatened him with the baseball bat on Maureen Court in Broadbeach Waters.

The group stole the man's car which is described as a blue 2004 BMW hatch bearing Queensland registration 117WDR.

The BMW was seen travelling along Sunshine Boulevard in Broadbeach Waters in the company of a Ford Falcon sedan believed to have been used in all three offences.

Police believe the group may have crossed the border into Tweed Heads.

The three people involved are described as being in their late teens/early 20s, thin builds and wearing black clothing.

Police are appealing anyone who may have seen either of these vehicles or has any information regarding the incidents to speak to police.

No one was physically injured in the incidents.
