Police investigate armed robbery at Armidale

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was robbed in the state's north last week.

About 11.45pm on Friday (17 July 2020), a 37-year-old man was standing outside a home on Mann Street, Armidale, when he was approached and threatened by two men, one armed with a knife.

The pair demanded cash and property and when the man refused, they took his wallet and keys before fleeing.

The man was not physically injured and his wallet and keys were later recovered in the front garden of a nearby home on Mann Street. Nothing was taken from the wallet.

Officers attached to New England Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, any witnesses or any motorists who may have been in the area and have CCTV or dashcam vision, are urged to come forward.
