Police investigate armed robbery at Asquith

Police are investigating an armed robbery on Sydney's Upper North Shore last week.

About 2.40pm (Monday 12 August 2019), a man entered a shop on Peats Ferry Road, Asquith, armed with a knife.

Police have been told the man, wearing a two-toned jumper with a hood and a dark beanie, threatened the shop's owner, before fleeing with an amount of cash.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 40 and 45 years, 170cm tall with a large build.

Officers from Hornsby Police station arrived a short time later and established a crime scene.

Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to a woman who the armed robber bumped into as he was fleeing.
