Police investigate armed robbery at Bentleigh

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following an armed robbery in Bentleigh overnight.

The incident occurred on Tovan Akas Avenue when the victim, who was parking his car outside an address, was approached by two men just after 3.30am.

One of the men, who was armed with a knife, threatened the victim, demanding that he hand over his wallet and car keys.

The victim, a man in his 30s, complied with the robber’s demands and handed over his wallet and keys.

The men then attempted to steal the victim’s car, a Hyundai i30, but were unable to start it.

Both men then fled from the scene.
