Police investigate armed robbery at Macquarie Fields

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Sydney's south west today.

About 2.15pm (Friday 11 September 2020), police were called to a general store on Evelyn Street, Macquarie Fields, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told a man – armed with a machete – entered the store, before threatening two employees.

The armed man stole cash and fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced a search of the area.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, aged between 20 and 30, and of solid build.
