Police investigate armed robbery at Mooloolaba

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Mooloolaba this morning.

At around 6am a man entered the shop on The Esplanade, produced what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at the store attendant, demanding money.

The 27-year-old male employee complied and the man put a sum of cash in a "bum bag" before fleeing the scene on foot.

The man is described as aged in his mid 20s to mid 30s,Caucasian in appearance with a round face and short dark hair.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with white writing on the front, dark knee length pants, dark gloves and possible sandals on his feet.

Police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the CCTV images to come forward.
