Police investigate armed robbery at Robina

Police have arrested a man in relation to the alleged armed robbery of another man at Robina on Monday February 25.

Around 9.00pm, a 28-year-old Varsity Lakes man attended a shopping centre at Robina for a pre-arranged meeting with a 22-year-old Coomera man, who was known to him, in order to sell two gold chains.

The 28-year-old got into the 22-year-old's vehicle and the pair have driven around Robina for a short period of time, before a another man, who was not known to the 28-year-old, entered the vehicle.

The trio drove to Heights Road, Robina, where the driver pulled over.

It will be alleged the driver produced a firearm and demanded the two gold chains from the 28-year-old, before instructing him to get out of the vehicle.

The other two men then drove away with the jewellery.

This morning officers executed a search warrant on a Jimmy Road, Coomera address where they arrested a 22-year-old man, who is currently assisting with investigations.

Investigations continue.
